4:22 pm - I called the clinic in a panic. Anya had collapsed and I thought she had died on the living room floor. 4:24 pm - I was out the door with both my dogs. 4:31 pm - I arrived. Staff helped and carried Anya in. They weighed her quickly and rushed her to the back. I could hear Anya yelp in pain. They stabilized her without knowing what was happening. Gave her pain meds. Then ran X-rays and other tests. Her spleen had ruptured. Dr. Cosko called several places and finally found a place in Bakersfield that could do it. The clinic closed at 5pm. At 8pm - I rushed Anya to Bakersfield and that staff was waiting for me.
They were prepared to go home and be with their families that night. But, they all stayed three hours after. Just for Anya. They all saved her life. They all saved my life.
